Read Across America and Dr. Seuss' Birthday!

It is going to be a fun week celebrating Read Across America and Dr. Seuss' birthday! Today we began the celebration by reading Oh, The Places You'll Go by Dr. Seuss. Before we listened to the book, we discussed how authors use certain words in their books that suggest feelings. During the read aloud the students wrote down words they heard that made them feel and think of certain feelings. One student wrote down the word "left" (the character in the story talked about being left alone) because it made him feel sad and lonely. After the read aloud and the students shared the words they wrote down, we celebrated with gogurts (Oh, The Places You'll Gogurt)! We had a fun day of learning!
