Scientist in the Making!

The students poured water into each type of soil (topsoil, dirt, clay, sand) to see which soil absorbed the  most water! After their observations, the students concluded that the topsoil absorbed the most water.

On Tuesday we ventured into the Wonder Room to observe different kinds of rocks and classify the rocks. Using a magnifying glass and the sense of touch, the students observed that some of the rocks were smooth, rough, shiny, and dull. They also observed that rocks can be different colors. The students then classified the rocks based on their color.

  1. I am quite impressed with your observation skills! This is a very important skill for us to learn in life...we learn so much simply by observing, watching, and exploring! I am very proud of the work you are doing! If we understand how our world works, we'll know what we must do to take care of it! Thank you, "Mayfield Corralers" for the great work you are doing! AND keep asking those WONDERful questions!
